A staged reading refers to a presentation of a new play using actors. With the guidance of a director, the production team is given no more than 7 hours of rehearsal time to determine how best to present the playwright's piece. Minimal or no costumes will be worn. Sets will be basic. Scripts will be in actors' hands. As an audience member, you get to share in the creative process of a play's development. You just don't know how inspiration may hit you.
To be performed 1/17/25 at 7:30 pm.
A group of four high school buddies who call themselves The Bedford Pirates have grown old together. While they profess that “brothers all are we” they harbor their share of secrets. Some are more serious than others. Like, for example, what happened to the fifth pirate on a stormy night in the Florida Keys?
We will be hosting a Talk Back after the presentation of this script.

Kitty & Sophie & Mary Ann imagines what might have happened if Kitty Genovese, whose brutal murder in 1964 remains emblematic to this day for bystander apathy, was resurrected and went on a spontaneous road trip to Maine with her beloved neighbor Sophie and her closeted lover, Mary Ann. It would be weird - right? The natural world might be a little thrown? In this mystical exploration of grief, love, and faith, Kitty, Sophie, and Mary Ann's second chance asks all of us to consider who second chances are really for, and what we would do with them, if given the chance.
Genre: comedy, docudrama/historic, faith-based, fantasy, mystery/thriller, period
