Saturday, September 20: 12pm 

Sunday, September 21: 12pm

Auditions are anticipated to end between 2pm - 3pm, depending on number of auditioners.

Auditions will be held in the Community High School Theatre (get directions on Google Maps).

302 Campbell Ave. SE

Auditions will consist of cold reads of scenes from the play.  No stage experience is required to audition.

Individuals auditioning for the roles of Norman and Ethel are encouraged to prepare a monologue, but it is not required.

Minors auditioning for Billy Ray: This character uses some adult language. 

Please note, these auditions will be closed. Only production crew and individuals auditioning will be allowed to sit in during actual auditions. Parents of minors will be allowed to be in the building, but will be asked to remain in the theatre's lobby during the auditions.

Available roles:

Norman Thayer - age 79, Male

• A cantankerous, but endearing, retired professor
• Has a strained relationship with daughter, Chelsea

Ethel Thayer - age 69, Female

• A kind and caring woman, deeply in love with her husband, Norman
• Independent and active

Charlie Martin - age 44, Male

• The mailman and one of Chelsea's old boyfriends
• Jovial and happy
• Speaks with a thick Maine accent

Billy Ray - age 13, Male

• Son of Bill Ray
• An awkward teenager who puts on an air of self-confidence

Bill Ray - age 45, Male

• Chelsea's boyfriend
• A good-looking and successful dentist

Chelsea Thayer Wayne - age 42, Female

• The estranged daughter of Norman & Ethel
• Struggling to deal with her difficult childhood
